Sugarland began to resume their tour in Albuquerque, New Mexico, after earlier incidents on the stage.
In the last week, when appearing at the Indiana State Fair, the stage they were hit by a tornado collapsed speed 60-70 mph. In the accident at least five people were killed and dozens others wounded.
Band consisting of Jennifer Nettles (lead vocals) and Kristian Bush (backvocal, lead vocals, mandolin, acoustic guitar, and harmonica) is calling for a moment of silence to honor those killed and injured in these tragic incidents.
“I believe that now you’re all very aware of what happened in the Indiana State Fair. A few moments before we played, great gusts of wind come up and tear down everything. Injuring more than 40 people and killed five people,” said Jennifer.
“To honor those who were injured and their beautiful lives lost, we ask you all to stand and join us for a moment of silence,” he continued.
Before closing the silence, Jennifer said, “Obviously we still feel lost, but we try to do our best and be professional to come here and celebrate this moment with you with joy and healing through music”.
